I’m pleased to announce that Sumo Logic has finalized its acquisition of DFLabs S.p.A., a provider of security orchestration, automation and response (SOAR) software.
The combination of Sumo Logic’s Continuous Intelligence Platform™ and DFLabs will provide customers of varying sizes and maturities with comprehensive cloud-native security intelligence solutions, that are built for today’s digital businesses leveraging modern applications, architectures and multi-cloud infrastructures.
I recently sat down with Dario Forte, former CEO and Founder of DFLabs, to talk about our shared vision to modernize security operations.
Greg: Dario, now that you are part of the Sumo Logic family, what are your initial thoughts?
Dario: First of all, the entire DFLabs team is ecstatic that we are part of Sumo Logic, an innovator and leader in Cloud Security. We are extremely confident that the next steps will be exciting for all of us. We have been relentless in our mission to mold the DFLabs IncMan SOAR into one of the best SOAR solutions in the industry, and we’re proud to entrust the future of our product to a company that shares the same values, vision, and core beliefs as us.
Dario: What were some of the key drivers that led to Sumo acquiring DFLabs?
Greg: Security operations is no longer a human scale problem, and it requires modern tools and technologies to help teams process, investigate and respond to threats at machine speed. With the combined expertise of Sumo Logic and DFLabs, we are well-positioned to continue helping customers navigate the evolving threat landscape and overcome the complexity caused by a perimeter-less world. With this acquisition, Sumo Logic has bolstered its Security Intelligence portfolio with a leading SOAR platform, which will help customers with full incident lifecycle automation, Supervised Active Intelligence (SAI), and security orchestration.
Greg: Dario, in your view how does SOAR augment human intelligence?
Dario: Our focus at DFLabs has always been to solve the changes modern security practitioners face every day. SOAR does not replace humans but makes them more efficient. By leveraging Sumo’s Continuous Intelligence Platform, Cloud SIEM with a modern SOAR, we will be offering security solutions that will modernize SOC teams, improve visibility, and also enhance incident response plans, ultimately helping security professionals make fast and well-informed decisions. We are excited to start helping Sumo Logic’s customers to accelerate their SOC productivity with detection and response to threats and attack vectors involving multi-cloud, hybrid cloud and on-premises sources.
Dario: Greg, What are some of the customer benefits?
Greg: Our security intelligence customers will now have access to the best in class cloud-native security operations solution anchored by Sumo Logic Cloud SIEM and DFLabs’ leading open SOAR solution to investigate and respond to threats faster while improving SecOps productivity. Few specific benefits I think of include:
Accelerated visibility from across IT and Security environment
Advanced and automated insights
Respond to attacks faster at machine scale
Orchestrate across your security and IT ecosystem
Automation ready, modern security operations workflows
Allowing SOC teams to make quick and informed decisions
Sumo Logic has been helping thousands of customers with their digital transformation journey securing cloud-first, cloud smart, cloud rebuild projects, and app modernization efforts. No matter where you are on your security modernization journey, Sumo Logic can help you achieve your goals.
